HEIDEN ASSOCIATES solves and/or helps solve chemistry and biochemical science problems involving product and feedstock contaminants and impurities, process imbalances, ingredient stability, formulation compatibility, intractable or difficult to analyze plastics, hazardous chemicals, environmental pollutants, costly nuisances associated with unknown deposits, corrosion, water chemistry, deterioration/degradation and odor generation. We accomplish our goals through well thought out investigative strategies utilizing a combination of state-of-the-art analytical chemical analysis measurement laboratory technologies, classical methods of chemical and biochemical analysis, detailed incident reviews and teamwork.
We develop and test analysis strategies and methods for benchmarking chemical and biochemical processes, manufactured articles, chemicals, and natural products. We evaluate rapid field tests for our clients.

Stuff happens in the real world. And when chemicals, chemical systems and materials are involved we can help sort out superfluous information, set the direction of the investigation, and even find the needle in the haystack. We analyze product failures (failure analysis), or chemical systems that fail to meet specifications or expectations. Our goal with failure analysis is to find the root cause and identify the appropriate corrective action. Our research projects encompass many subjects and can be a series of short experimentations with a focused outcome or a broad, far-reaching project aimed at improving the knowledge base or solving an ill defined problem with directed research. Unprecedented breakthroughs in science are preceded by significant advances in measurement technology, and we approach each project with that in mind. So, while we do projects which solely focus on the analytical technology, we often work with our clients on complex chemistry issues that bring to the forefront the weaknesses of status quo analysis technology, and we work with them to help make that leap to the next level.
